LINUX / LOCAL CONFIGURATION LINT
Configuration checker
Inspect pasted Nginx, OpenSSH server or systemd configuration for selected syntax and value mistakes. Get line numbers, review notes and a native check command for your server. Configuration stays in this browser.
Paste a configuration
Paste text and inspect the selected configuration type.
Inspection result
- Detected errors
- Review notes
- Checked value forms
- Uninspected entries
This is a bounded text inspection. It does not confirm native validity, effective settings, secure operation or that a service will start. Review notes describe written settings in their scope; they are not automatic security failures.
Check the actual file on your server
Not executed by this website. These native checks do not start or reload a service, but can read included files, keys and other resources, and Nginx can open configured log files. Run with the required permissions only after reviewing the file.
What is inspected
Nginx: quoted tokens, comments, matching braces and directive terminators; written autoindex, proxy_ssl_verify and server_tokens values; a single plain numeric TCP listen port; and integer client_max_body_size forms with optional k, m or g. Address/socket listen forms, option combinations, numeric overflow, directive placement, inheritance, defaults and module availability need native verification. Includes are not read.
OpenSSH server: selected written yes/no settings, PermitRootLogin modes and plain decimal Port bounds. Service names and other Port forms need native verification. Repeated scalar settings carry a first-obtained-value note; repeated Port entries are additive. Include files and Match conditions are not evaluated. This does not determine settings for a real connection. Keyword placement and other keywords need the installed OpenSSH validator.
systemd: section/assignment structure, selected Type, Restart and boolean values, written ExecStart resets and multiple-command constraints, and Persistent without a written OnCalendar entry. Inline # and ; text is kept as value text. Continued lines, command/calendar/time grammar, drop-ins, dependencies, defaults and version-specific fields need native verification.
How to use the result
Correct detected errors, review intentionally enabled settings, then run the suggested command against the actual file. Nginx needs its full main configuration and include tree. OpenSSH validation may require access to host keys; inspect effective Match settings separately with sshd -T and explicit connection context. systemd verification can report referenced units, commands and installed-version differences. Fix native findings before applying configuration through your normal deployment process.
Privacy and limits
Pasted configuration remains in page memory. It is not uploaded, stored, put in a URL or echoed in the copied findings. Unknown parameter values are not reflected in results. The entered file path is included in the copied command. Results clear when inputs change or you leave the page. This tool cannot inspect secrets, referenced files, runtime state or real permissions.
